Naperville Writers Group Opens 2010 Literary Series

The Naperville Writers Group's November literary evening will feature husband and wife team Molly McNett & Dan Libman.

Molly McNett holds an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers' Workshop and is the 2008 Winner of the John Simmons Prize for fiction for her book of short fiction One Dog Happy, published by University of Iowa Press. Her fiction and non-fiction have appeared in The Missouri Review, Black Warrior Review, Fifth Wednesday Journal, Brain Child Magazine, The Best American Nonrequired Reading, and elswhere. Recently her story Quiche Lessons was mentioned as one of 100 Distinguished Stories of 2008 in the Best American Short Stories and won the Missouri Review's Peden prize for fiction. Molly teaches English at Northern Illinois University.

Dan Libman's fiction and essays have appeared in numerous magazines and literary journals including Details, The Paris Review, Chicago Reader, Columbia, Santa Monica Review, and The Beloit Fiction Journal. He is a past winner of a Pushcart Prize for fiction, an Illinois Arts Council Grant in prose, and a Paris Review Discovery Prize. He teaches English at Northern Illinois University, edits the book review section for Fifth Wednesday Journal, and in his spare time maintains a flock of 20 chickens for his family's egg consumption.

In addition to Ms. McNett and Mr. Libman, members of the Naperville Writers Group will read their prose and poetry, and time will be provided for members of the public to read during open mic.

The event will be held on Friday, January 29th, from 7 to 9PM at the Barnes and Noble at the Promenade Center in Bolingbrook, 631 E Boughton Road. The event is free and open to the public. If you would like to read, please arrive early and sign up.
